To See or Not to See

My top 5 trailers (based partially on the trailer itself and partially how AWESOME the movie should be.)  Plus one sleeper trailer.

The Dark Knight Rises.

Batman. Bane.  Cat Woman.   Nolan.

The Hobbit

Gandalf.  Singing Dwarves.  Hobbits.  Peter Jackson.

The Avengers

Robert Downey Jr.  Scarlett Johansson in skin-tight leather outfit.  Joss Whedon.

The Bourne Legacy

Jeremy Renner.   Explosions.  Car chases.  I would bet a naked woman at some point.

Prometheus (Alien prequel)

Aliens.  3D.  Charlize Theron.  Ridley Scott

Plus a sleeper, a trailer that never fails to make me laugh…

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Bill Nyghy.  Maggie Smith.  Judi Dench.  No explosions.  No car chases.

About Joe Cummings

Aquarius. Traveler. Gamer. Writer. A New Parent. 4 of these things are easy. One is not. But the journey is that much better for the new people in my life. A life I want to share with others, to help them, maybe, to make them feel less alone, sure, to connect with the greater world, absolutely.

The Hobbit has to be my first choice–so very very excited about that. What a wonderful vision Peter Jackson has. I’m glad they’re squeezing in (somehow) Galadriel: always very happy to see Cate Blanchett–one of my all-time beauties. And I have to admit that in some wierd way there’s also something sexy about McKellan. But it’s the story, of course. The Hobbit might very well be the last book I’ll read. I think they’ll be something very comforting about that…..
Since Gladiator, I’ve only seen two of Ridley’s Scott’s movies (Matchstick Men and American Gangster). I’ve simply not been motivated to see the others. I hope Prometheus is better than the impression I have of most of his more recent work. The trailer is certainly enticing.
